(BCP Readings for today)

A Psalm of David.

101 I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
    to you, O Lord, I will make music.

Thank You Lord for Your deep, deep, deep love for us. Meditating on Your steadfast love makes my heart sing.

I will ponder the way that is blameless.
    Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart
    within my house;

I desire to boldly proclaim, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). However, I cannot do this in my own strength. I need You I truly need You every hour.

I will not set before my eyes
    anything that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
    it shall not cling to me.

Help me to desire only those things You desire and to find repulsive those things that You find repulsive. Filter my thoughts and imagination through Your holy grid: whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. (Phil. 4:8)

A perverse heart shall be far from me;
    I will know nothing of evil.

Thank You for all the good things You have given us to feast on and help me to automatically flee from those things that do not bring me closer to You.

Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly
    I will destroy.
Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart
    I will not endure.

Deliver me from the desire of being praised, honored above others and from the fear of being humiliated.

I will look with favor on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
he who walks in the way that is blameless
    shall minister to me.

Thank You Lord for a Godly wife who is a prayer warrior and for Godly friends who sharpen me.

No one who practices deceit
    shall dwell in my house;
no one who utters lies
    shall continue before my eyes.

Dear Lord, You know the struggles that I have with deceit. Please forgive me. Please help me to desire that I may decrease and that You increase and that others be preferred.

Morning by morning I will destroy
    all the wicked in the land,
cutting off all the evildoers
    from the city of the Lord.

Please, Lord, take over every room of my house and help me to repent turning away from all evil and keeping my eyes fixed on You. You are an awesome God worthy of all praise and adoration.
